Halloween in the Office

Holiday parties are a great way to infuse a little fun and enjoyment into the office, which boosts employee morale and encourages team building. While you may have reservations about Halloween festivities, consider these tips and have an excellent fall bash.

1) Have the party at the end of the work day so productivity is not effected. A quick office party starting at 4:30 is a good option; if it runs a little late that's ok too! It'll be worth the extra hours.

2) Get families involved and increase personal friendships within the office by inviting kids and spouses. One idea for Halloween in particular is an office wide trick-or-treat event. Because of safety concerns, more and more parents are opting out of trick or treating. Parents in your office will love the opportunity to let kids go cubicle to cubicle (or door to door) collecting candy from coworkers. It will also increase familiarity among employees, giving them a chance to socialize outside of work.

3) Try some inter-office games with fun Halloween prizes! Pumpkin carving contests or costume contests are great games for any business. Just be sure to warn employees of applicable dress codes during the costume contest. Reward winners with Pumpkin Pens or Pumpkin Stress Balls.

Good luck and Happy Halloween!
